This helps us to explain and explore what might happen under different scenarios or conditions even if they sound unlikely to happen. E g What if you could go back in and change one event in history? Imagine a world without electricity. How would it impact communication and relationships? What if everyone’s dreams became public knowledge? If social class were determined by kindness instead of money or power, how would society change ?
