Religion islam
Islam is one of the world’s major monotheistic religions, founded on the belief in one God, Allah. It emerged in the 7th century CE in the Arabian Peninsula through the prophet Muhammad, whom Muslims believe to be the final prophet. The central religious text of Islam is the Quran, considered the literal word of God as revealed to Muhammad by the archangel Gabriel.
Muslims believe in the Five Pillars of Islam, which form the core practices of the faith: Shahada (faith), Salat (prayer), Zakat (charity), Sawm (fasting during Ramadan), and Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca).
