Cardic arrest
Cardiac arrest is a sudden loss of heart function, typically caused by an electrical disturbance in the heart that disrupts its pumping action. During cardiac arrest, the heart stops beating effectively, leading to a cessation of blood flow to the rest of the body. This condition is a medical emergency requiring immediate intervention, such as CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and defibrillation, to restore normal heart rhythm and circulation. Without prompt treatment, cardiac arrest can be fatal within minutes.
