I moved to Milan from Los Angeles in 2017 on an Elective Residency Visa. I'm now a Permanent Resident of the EU and will be moving to Nice. I will explain the requirements, how I did it and give you an honest answer on whether I think you will qualify.

I've traveled with and without my Pug mix dog in Europe by train and car. She's about 8kg and while she moved from the US by plane, she never flies in Europe. My primary residence is in Milan and I've lived in Nice and Croatia and traveled extensively in Europe with and without my dog.
