A short definition of comedy
Comedy is a type of drama that aims to entertain according to modern opinion. It is contrasted with tragedy (it does not end in suffering and is not emotionally intense) on the one hand, and satire, and other forms of comic entertainment, on the other. Comedy is more intellectually pleasing and meaningful than broad entertainment.
