Discrimination based on makeup and cosmetics women enhance their appearance with makeup, while men who do the same are criticized and labeled as effeminate or gay. This unequal treatment reinforces gender norms and restricts individuals' ability to freely express themselves. Furthermore, the beauty industry often excludes people of color by offering limited shades and options, thus reinforcing Eurocentric standards of beauty. Such discrimination prevents equal access to self-expression, reinforces oppressive beauty standards, and perpetuates inequality.
